El cerramiento de la escuela infantil Can Feliç en Benicàssim, tiene la misión de poner en relación lo pequeño y lo grande. El mundo de lo pequeño en el que se desarrolla el universo de los niños y el mundo de lo grande correspondiente a la escala de la ciudad y del territorio. Por ello, la fachada se compone a partir de un módulo volumétrico y de sus variaciones, como unidades repetibles que en su interior acogen un hueco ajustado a tamaño y a la altura de los niños, mientras que en su exterior se ensancha hasta adquirir la altura del edificio.
La construcción de estos módulos se realiza con ocho piezas distintas de encofrado metálico ejecutadas en obra que, jugando con su posición sobre un encofrado base, liberan la fachada de la rigidez de una modulación estricta.
El juego y la repetición, parte indiscutible del aprendizaje infantil, pasa a formar parte no solo de la composición de la fachada, sino de la construcción de la misma. Las diferentes técnicas de hormigonado ensayadas, desde el hormigón proyectado hasta el tradicional vertido, nos son únicamente parte del proceso constructivo sino también el resultado de este aprendizaje.
The envelope of the Nursery School Can Feliç in Benicàssim has the task of linking the small and the large, the world of the small is the children’s universe and the world of the large corresponds to the city and the territory. Therefore, the façade is made from volumetric module and its variations, like repeatable units which host on the inside an opening adjusted to the children’s size and height, while on the outside they widen to acquire the building height.
The construction of these modules is made with eight pieces of metal formwork executed on site. By playing with their position on a frame formwork, the façades are freed of the rigidity of strict modulation.
Game and repetition, an undeniable part of children’s learning, become part both of the composition of the façade and its construction. The different pouring techniques tested, from shotconcrete to the traditional pouring, are not only part of the construction process but also the result of this learning.
